sypnosis!! =D
Everyone in the group was very attentive and cooperative during the little sessions we had to make this movie successful... Everyone also made it successful by not complaining and that we just got along with every decision because we all agreed on what we should do to make it funny and entertaining...
In the end our video turned out good and everyone in the group was happy with it... =D
how to be a nerd post 7 =D
today was the last lesson we are filming and it was lesson 7 which was watch out for the bully... angela was away again so we got debbie to film us again.... we decided that nancy was the nerd and i was the bully...
After this we converted our video from the video camera to the computer and we put it in movie maker.... We put music and techniques in our movie so that it could be much more entertaining...
Even though we had a few arguments, problems and stress, we overcame everything and got a nice result to our movie... We all had fun in making this movie and this was a good experience in filming and also getting to work in teams.... This was also the most enjoyable practical assessment we had for IST....
how to be a nerd post 6 =D
todayangela was away again so we couldnt do much again... so we just took a risk and asked one of the other people from another group who was free and asked them if they could film for us... the person that helped us was debbie... now that was sorted out we started doing the next lesson which was revenge your bully... in this lesson we got debbie to film us, nancy was the nerd and i was the bully... this lesson was the longest film we did out of the whole thing... we did like more than 20 shots just to get 1 that is a good result... this step took the whole lesson to film so we had to wait for the next lesson until we could finish our movie off...
how to be a nerd post 5 =D
today was a normal day and we strted filming so that we could get our movie over and done with.... today we were filming lesson 4 which was obey all rules... we started filming at lunch time so we got the teacher on duty to be in our little movie... we decided that i was the nerd, angela was the bully and nancy was filming... we also did lesson 5 wich was never give your lunch money away to the bully... we decided that nancy was the bully and i was the nerd... we finished these lessons and waited for the next lesson so that we could film our next step...
how to be a nerd post 4 =D
angela was away today, leaving me and nancy to do the filming... as she was away we couldnt do much because we could'nt get anyone to film us.... We hoped that next lesson angela was present... and she was so we straightly got on with our film starting off from where we left from... Now we were filming lesson 3 which was "have a secret handshake" we decided that me and nancy should be the two nerds and angela was filming.. This was one of the lessons that took us a very long time to finish because we hadto keep re doing it over and over again....
how to be a nerd post 3 =D
today was the first day we started filming our movie...
We alocated our roles for each of the steps and decided that for the first step, Nancy was the person video taping us, angela was the nerd and i was the bully pushing her down the stairs..
after a few shots of this we started on the second step and decided that i should chase the bird and nancy was filming... while angela got the bird to stay where we wanted it to be... this step was difficult because we couldnt find any birds that was free and on the ground...
how to be a nerd post 2 =D
today we were discussing on what our group name should be and what video we were going to do.. We decided that our name should be CNA.. we thought of this because we just used the first letter of the first name of everyone in the group.... C= christle, N= nancy and A= angela... The group was fine with this name so we went with it... after we registered this on the site we also had to say what our video was about... after watching a few funny videos we decided to do a spoof.... So we all agreed that our video should be called "How to be a nerd" and in this video we made 7 steps... then we started designing our story boards... everyone had their own..
How to be a nerd post 1 =D
today was the day we got our assignment... This assignment was based on a video that had to last for at least 3-4 minutes... This video could be on anything that we wanted... but before we got started we had to be in a group of no more than 3 people... i had a few problems in picking my group because there was 5 of us friends... so we came to a decision and i ended up being in a group with
NANCY SASSINE and ANGELA SASSINE...
before we started anything we had to register a group name and what type of video we were going to do on the school website...ist groups 2009....
As we discussed on what we were going to make the video about, the bell rang so we waited till next lesson and discussed more on what we were going to do and what our name was going to be...

Q3.
RSS keeps the audience updated. It allow people to see the content without having to go to the website. it saves time and frustration.
Q4.
An RSS subscriber is worth about 15 to 20 email subsribers and it also shows that when i added 1 RSS subscriber there were 2 more email subscribers

Diary entry5!!
dear diary,
omgoshh this is the last diary entry i have to do!!! My animation ended up having 70 something frames and is way more than what i was aiming for. Some of the difficulties i encountered was that i kept changing my mind on what software to use and what i was gonna do for my animation. I encountered this by leaving it to inkscape and sticking to the idea i had. I also learnt how to use inkscape and gimp wich was very interesting and i learned how to use some of the tools provided in it. i also learned about different softwares and different kinds image file size and types. I never even knew what some of the words meant at the start like "png" but after doing this i have learned alot of meaning of technological words. Making the animation was hard but it was fun to do.
I hope you enjoy my animation and like it.. thank you...
unfortunately this is my last diary entry...so cya!!

diary entry 4!!
Dear diary,
Today i started finishing off my elmo and i had made elmo say "go veritas"and at the end i just put the crest and made it pop out and disappear then pop out again. I saved everything and put it in gimp so that it could make an animation. Once i've finished i could put it in my blogger.
diary entry 3!!
Diary entry 2!!!
Dear diary,
Today is our 3rd lesson of our animations and I've started making my animation. 1st i got the cres tand took out the word "veritas"and "With truth comes justice". Second i started moving "Veritas"along the top of the crest to make it move, then i did the same to the "With truth comes justice". I exported everything i did to my (s:) drive and saved it as a png file.
Diary entry 1!!!
Dear diary,
today is our first lesson that we got our assessment. We were allowed to start after mr lennon showed us a few things on his his computer screan. We chose wich painting software we were gonna use to make our animations. I chose The software inkscape because it was more easier to use. I actually chose Gimp first but it was too complicated so i changed it to inkscape. I also chose this software because it gave me a wide range of tools to choose from. I went to the IST home page and clicked animation resources. I clicked on my house wich included our crest. I couldn't just open it because it would just give me the code so i had to right click and click on "save target as". The image would save so I wouldnt have to go back to it and keep opening it. When i've saved it it would open up in inkscape. I thought of an idea before i started doing anything.

Buying a graphics tablet
Explain what a graphics tablet is and how you would use one.
A graphics tablet is a computer input device that allows you to hand draw images and graphics. they can also be used to write, draw or put a signature. It has a flat page which you can draw or write an image or words using an attached stylus which is like a pen like drawing apparatus. The image normally doesn't appear on the tablet itself but it is displayed on the computer monitor. it creates computer graphics, especially two-dimensional computer graphics. Some examples of graphic tablets are GIMP, Corel painting, inkscape, photoshop, pixel image editor, studio artist, the crosfield imaging system, Quantel paintbox, and others.
How to use a graphics tablet
Step1: Research different graphics tablets. While most graphics tablets are similar, some perform better than others for certain tasks. There are different sizes of graphics tablets. A novice or occasional user might not want a larger graphics tablet, while an experienced programmer or graphic artist might prefer a larger tablet.
Step2: Know the interface, the way your graphics tablet connects to the computer. Many modern graphics tablets use USB connectivity. There are a few that have wireles capability that gives you more flexibility.
Step3: Set up your graphics tablet with the software that came with it. This software lets you use the tablet, and adjust the settings.
Step4: Draw your designs with a stylus or other tool, such as a graphics mouse. The stylus is a pen-like tool for drawing, similar to a pen or pencil. A graphics mouse is like to a regular compute mouse, but has adjustable settings for a graphics tablet, as well as the regular functions of a computer mouse.
Step5: Adjust the settings on your graphics tablet. Some adjustments may need to be made according to the type of graphics job you are doing. Refer to the user manual for specifics to the graphics tablet purchased.
Step6: Use the graphics tablet for computer graphics, game design, website graphics design, calligraphy on the computer, picture languages such as Chinese and Japanese writing, CAD and technical drawings and digital photography work. Anything a mouse and mouse pad can do, a graphics tablet can do.

3. Explain in terms we can understand what is meant by:
Pressure levels
Pressure levels are the sencitivity of the tablet wether it's high or low or standard. A standard pressure sensitivities is 256, 512 and 1024, and the higher the number is it will feel more natural, responsive and you will have more control of it . Most tablets has a 256, 512, or 1024 pressure levels. The pressure level can control the line thickness, transparency, and/or color.
Resolution
A resolution is the sharpness of a computer generated image is measured by the number of dots per linear inch in a hard-copy printout or it can be the number of pixels across and down on a display screen. Resolutions greater than 300 dots per linear inch is unecessary for everyday use and the finer the resolution is the more control you will apply on the image.

Image file types
Gif file
Gif file is used to store low colour sprite data for games and is also used for small animations and low resolution film clips. gif cannot be used for digital photography or still images. the number of colour a gif file has is 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 or 256.
JEG file
JPEG file is used for digital cameras and other photographic devises. It is aslo used for storing and transmitting photographic images in the world wide web. It cannot be used for multiple edits as it can get lost or deleted. The number of colour a JPEG has is 256, 16777216 or 4294967296.
Animated gif files
Animated GIF file is used for a serious of images and make up serious of frames. Animated GIFs are larger than single-frame GIFs and take longer to download because of it's size. the size of a normal animated gif file is 60 x 60 pixels.
MPEG file
MPEG file is used for digital videos and digital audio compressions. To use a personal computer that has a sufficient speed, internal memory and a hard disk space to handle and play large MPEG file. The number of colour a MPEG has is 800 mb and has a standard 1100kbps
Shokwave file
Shockwave file is used for multimedia and especially for vector graphics and contains animations or applets of varying degrees. Shockwave file can be played by the Adobe Flash player, working either as a browser plug in or a standalone player. it has a 800x600 pixels and a 16 bit depth.

Draw Vs Paint!!

Advantages:
- can use either only outline or fill
- makes a perfectly shaped circle
Disadvantages:
- Once copied and pasted you can't change the colour.
- When placed on top of something and placed can't move to a different place without wrecking the background
- Can't have same shape unless you want the same colour
Problems i encountered
some of the problems i had for paint was that when i made 1 circle and copied and pasted it, i couldnt change the colour. i encountered this pronlem by drawing 5 seperate circles. another problem i had was that when i kept leaving one of the circles on top of another and click on a different one it would stay and i couldn't move it without wrecking the picture behind it. I encountered this problem by not putting it on top unless im sure and everytime i did put it on top i just used the undo and fixed it.
Advantages
- You can move the picture on top of another picture and leave it and if you Don't want it there you can move it quickly just by clicking on it
- It's easy to change the colour
Disadvantages
- It doesn't go see through
- It doesn't move the picture right were you want it
Problems i encountered
some problems i had for word was that i tried to make it see through and it wouldn't work because it would only go infront or behind the picture but not through it. so i tried to draw on top of the other to make it look like a circle but it wouldn't work. i encountered this problem by putting the 2 bottom circle on top of the other 3 and just made it not see through. the next day to school i asked my teacher how to make it see through and he showed me how to and now it looks exactly like how i want it.

Digital Art!!
- dont need to sharpen the pencil/s
- just cklick ones or twice and the colour you want just appears
- wont have any unwanted line marks
- get a nice well coloured picture with no unwanted white spots
- can draw pictures that you cannot draw
- easy to edit
- can duplicate pictures easily
- can copy and paste
3. What skills must a digital artist possess to create great digital art?
- Need to know how to use a digital art/ draw program (eg. painting and canvas)
- Needs to have a stady hand
- need to know how to use different variety of tools
Some examples of digital art

Digital Media!!
1. List how many forms of digital media surround us (you should be able to come up with at least 5
- Cell phones
- digital video
- digital television
- internet
- video game
2. What number system is digital data based on? What two digits are used to code all digital data?
Binary describes a numbering scheme in which there are only two possible values for each digit: 0 and 1. In digital data memory, storage, processing, and communications, the 0 and 1 values are sometimes called "low" and "high," respectively.3. What is a bit? What is a byte?
A bit is a binary digit, taking a value of either 0 or 1. Binary digits are a basic unit of information storage and communication in digital.
A byte is a unit of storage capable of holding characters. in most computers a byte is equal to 8 bits. large amount of memory are known in terms of kilobytes, megabytes and gigabytes.
4. What is “sampling rate”? Find an image that explains how sampling works
Digital audio signal is its sampling rate, usually just called the sample rate. The reason why this is important is because the imagine that you had for example a recording of someone speaking, and you sampled the recording once per second. You'd end up with a lot of uneven noise. The more frequently the signal is sampled, the better the approximation to the original sound. However, the higher the sample rate the more memory is required to store the samples

5. How does Colour Depth (Color Depth) or bit depth effect the appearance of an image? Find some images to illustrate the effect.
Colour depth or Bit depth is a computer graphics term describing the number of bits used in a picture/ video. The higher the the colour depth is the clearer of the clours of the picture will be.

Low colour depth

high colour depth
6. Colour depth effects both still and video digital media. Sampling rate only effects video but not still media. Can you explain.
For the image/ video, colour depth has the same effect to it. It doesn't matter wether or not the image is moving because they are both the same. However, Sampling rate only effects video because for the videos there are sounds and movements but the still frames doesn't.
